Personalize Your Mat!

28 Mar

Oprah Yoga Mat

This is the coolest thing ever! Head on over to Yogamatic and get yourself a personalized yoga mat.  Even Oprah got in on the action when Jennifer Anniston gave her one personalized with pictures of her dogs.

I.Want.One.Of.These.  I’m thinking to keep myself motivated I should personalize my mat with a before shot of me in a bikini…..  Yep, that would do it.  What your motivation?

Sadly, Yogamatic has never heard of Fitness Junke and did not sponsor this post.

Oprah has never heard of Fitness Junke either.

Top Earphones for Runners

23 Mar

I was so happy to see this post on fitsugar!  I am one of “those” people who cannot wear the iphone ear buds when running.  They do not stay put, interrupt my workout, and break my focus.  And trust me, I need all the focus I can get when I’m running.  Let’s just say that it ain’t pretty.

Here are the top 5 picks:

Philips Earhook Headphones ($7)

Nike + iPod = Happy

Sooooo excited!  My wonderful Husband bought me the Nike Sensor to track my runs!  I can’t wait to use it on the treadmill today.  I’ve already set up my profile on and I’m looking forward to seeing my progress.  It even counts the calories I’m burning as I run – way cool so I can eat more cake during the day and still stay under my calorie goal.  (just kidding, sort of)

I’m totally resisting the urge to go buy a new pair of Nike’s.  The Nike+ shoes come with a little pocket under the left heel for the sensor.  Must. Have. It.

Nike doesn’t even know my name and didn’t sponsor this post.  But if they ever want to, I’d let them.

I want one of these!

I am in love with the Gramin Forerunner 110 GPS heart rate monitor.  This would be sooo cool to track my time, distance, and pace and what a great motivator to measure how far you’ve come.

Here are a few of the features listed on the website:

  • Heart rate monitor
  • Track calories burned
  • Upload your data to the Garmin Connect website to get a summary of your workout data and create goals.

I would looovvveee to go out and buy this right now but I want to make sure I’m committed to my running program before dropping $199 on a new toy.  Maybe I’ll splurge if I meet my goal of running a half?  That would be a very good thing!
